I can’t help it, every time I see a rainbow I want to take a picture. Devon doesn’t quite understand it, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with all of them except post them here.

This is the Trax station where I catch the train
Did you know that from a plane, rainbows look like complete circles? Devon told me that when we first started dating (I think he saw it on some TV show or read it somewhere) and I wasn’t sure if I believed him. When Marie and I were flying home from Vermont last weekend I looked out the window and saw this little round rainbow in the clouds. I only had my cell phone camera to document it but it’s definitely there.

In Minnesota it seemed like the tone for dental office advertisements was something like this: “You know you need to get your teeth cleaned. We clean teeth and have been doing it for years. Come see us.” Here in Utah, the tone of the ads is a little different. It’s like they are trying to convince people that they aren’t evil lovers of torture and pain. They often show a picture of the dentist with his family . . .

and they always seem to want to convince you that it will be a fun experience.

Whoa, comforting AND relaxing! With a warm hand towel and a movie! Where do I sign up?
Also, they nearly always advertise that you can be sedated during your cleaning procedure. I can’t say that I love the dentist, but I’ve never considered it so bad that I wanted to be put under. In fact, I have some pretty vivid memories of being awake even during molar extractions. If, however, the thought of the dentist sends a shiver down your spine, you might want to consider going to one here in Utah. Baeds on the ads, it sounds like it’s downright fun. Even if it’s not, at least you weren’t awake to remember it anyway.

This past weekend I attended my Grandma Buswell’s funeral in Vermont. I can’t do justice to the eulogy that my mom gave at the funeral so I’ll just say that she will definitely be missed. Although it was a sad occasion, it was wonderful to see so many family members, some that I hadn’t seen for years. Another silver lining is that Marie sang two of the songs my grandma had requested for her funeral. Since I’ve found out that there are blog reaading family members who were at the funeral, I thought I’d post the recordings my dad made of the songs during the funeral. The sound quality is what is to be expected from a pocket recorder, but since I’ve had the songs running through my head for the past few days I thought I’d share them. (With Marie’s permission, of course.)
